They walked hand-in-hand to her apartment’s front entrance. She shivered when Bryce closed his long fingers over her hand taking her key. The lock clicked, and he moved back to allow her to enter. Her attention glued to him, she bumped an entryway table sending a lamp careening to the floor. Spinning around too late, she tightened. In a blur of action, Bryce caught it. With shaking hands, Rosemary took a moment to position the lamp back on the table. “Thanks, it belonged to my grandma on my mom’s side.” “No problem. What’s the use of having vampire reflexes if you don’t use them?” His smoky voice set fire to her lady parts. Her imagination concocted a slew of uses for his talents. She was lost. He saved her Grandma Rosie’s lamp. She was shocked to discover she wanted to give him a chance. “So true.” How to say this? “Okay, then.” He suddenly appeared vulnerable. “Thanks for a great night. I enjoyed myself.” She edged closer until his warmth flowed over her. His voice came out almost in a whisper. “Did you enjoy yourself enough to consider going on another date with me?” She edged closer and tilted her head. She shook with the need to kiss him. She stroked his cheek with her hand. “Yes, I would like that.” He grabbed her hand, giving it a firm shake, and then he headed for the door. “Great, I’ll call you. Good night.” What the hell? Her mouth flew open as she stood there in shock. “Good… goodnight.” Before she could say more, he turned around and his strong arms wrapped around her, holding her close, her breasts flattened to his broad, powerful chest. He lifted her chin and gazed into her eyes. A psychic tingle passed between them leaving no doubt in her mind he wanted her. “You didn’t think I’d leave without kissing you, did you?” And, then he smiled. Rosemary started to speak, but before the smart-ass answer shot out, he possessed her mouth. Her pulse banged in a primal rhythm of need. All thoughts abandoned her mind. He slipped his tongue slowly between her lips. As she kissed him back with a passion she could barely control, tendrils of fear slipped into her thoughts. Her tongue felt the fullness of his fangs pushing at the corners of his mouth. Am I nuts? He’s a vampire. A big, strong, sexy vampire. Her body arched as his large hands caressed her back, dropping lower and lower until with a palm on each of her butt cheeks, he pulled her into him. She glanced for a second at his eyes that glowed. The pulse of his throbbing manhood beat a tune of need across her belly. She moaned as his leg slipped between her thighs. She welcomed his fingers searching for her breasts as he deepened the kiss. When he found them, he pinched her nipples, releasing a flood of need between her legs. Eyes flying open, she realized his fangs had extended to their full length. The knowledge they were approaching the point of no return, froze her. For a moment, they stared at each other. With obvious effort, she pulled back. He growled but allowed her to step away. Afraid of what she had almost done, she swallowed, trying to control her lust. “Bryce, I’m sorry. I need more time.” Bryce shuddered. “I have to go, before I can’t.” Trembling, he kissed her gently in the center of her forehead and left.

Goodreads / Amazon / Barnes & Noble / iBooks / Kobo -- EXCERPT: We’d just ordered our drinks when Dylan Conrad walked into the lounge. He paused in the entryway, his gaze scanning the room. The man was so freaking hot. At seeing me, he smiled, making my heart thump in my chest. “Mind if I join you?” he said, coming to a stop behind the empty chair at our table for four. “Unless you’re expecting someone.” That was said to me. “Nope. Have a seat, Chief.” I had a sudden fantasy of playing cop and criminal with him, me being the bad guy and him having to frisk me. I hoped my cheeks weren’t as red as they felt. He sat next to me, and I caught a whiff of man and something spicy. I also hoped I didn’t start drooling. His eyes danced with amusement. “Introduce me to your friends, Red.” Oh. Right. I was sitting here staring at him like an idiot, and now I knew for sure my face was beet red. “Ahem, this is my best friend, Autumn Archer, and her soon-to-be husband, Brian Stratton. Guys, this is Dylan Conrad, Blue Ridge Valley’s new police chief.” “Welcome to Blue Ridge Valley,” Autumn said. “I’ve heard great things about you.” Dylan sat back in his chair. “Oh?” I kicked her under the table. That devilish gleam in her eyes meant she was up to no good. “Yep. You have really pretty eyes, by the way. Jenn said they were the color of Tennessee whiskey, and she’s right.” I kicked her again. Harder. Dylan turned those beautiful eyes on me. “You been talking about me, Red?” ![]()
GIVEAWAY! ![]() Galaxies and Oceans
-- EXCERPT:
Patrick I stopped, looked toward the lonely figure still watching the ocean below, and with a deep breath and nothing to lose, I crossed the street and walked toward him. “Hi,” I said, still a few metres away so as not to scare him. He spun regardless, his eyes wide. He had dark eyes, pale skin, and I could see short brown hair poking out from under his hood. He looked three days unshaven, and the bump on the bridge of his nose gave his handsome face a rugged edge. “Oh, hi.” “Didn’t mean to scare ya.” I nodded toward the tumultuous, tumbling ocean. “She’s upset today.” He looked back out to the rough seas and gave me a quick smile. “It’s actually kinda pretty.” I scratched at my beard. “I’ve heard it been called cruel, cold, rugged, hellish. The only people who call it pretty are the ones who end up staying.” He looked back out to sea and smiled. The wind caught his hood and tousled his hair. His cheeks were pink from the cold as was the tip of his nose. He was handsome, no two ways about it. And possibly fifteen years younger than me. I made myself look away. “What brings you here?” “Looking,” he answered without turning to me. “For?” I stared out across the stormy waves with him. “Work? A new beginning?” He shot me a look. “Something like that.” I sipped my coffee. “There’s not much work here. Well, that’s not true. There’s a tonne of work; this whole town is weather-beaten and old. Just not much work that pays.” His lips twitched. “But you can try the caravan park.” I didn’t let on that I knew that was where he was staying. “Old Frank Hill who runs the place would never say no to help. Maintenance, that kind of thing.” He turned back to the water, to the wind. “I’ve asked him already.” “Frank’s just a grumpy old man who thinks anyone under thirty’s a hooligan. I’ll have a word with him if you like.” “Why would you do that?” I smiled and gave pause. Why was I offering to help this guy? I didn’t know him from Adam. Sure, he was good-looking, but there was something in his eyes. Something deep, hidden, and burning. Something horrendously painful. Something I recognised. I faced the angry sea alongside him. “Because you called this ocean pretty.” Neither of us spoke for a while. I drank my coffee and he turned his empty cup in his hands. “Anyway,” I said, realising I couldn’t stand around all day. “My name’s Patrick. I live at the lighthouse.” That made him look at me. “In the lighthouse?” “No. Not in it. In the residence.” “Oh. Cool.” “Well, it’s almost two hundred years old, made from sandstone, and it’s tiny. But yes, it’s cool.” I smiled as the wind whipped around us. “I should go. I have work to do, but I’ll call around and see Frank after lunch.” I pulled the newspaper out from under my arm, and his eyes darted to the front page. He stared so long I turned it around so he could read it, but he shot me a look that I couldn’t place, and it was gone so fast I’d wondered if I’d seen it. He stepped back. “Yeah, um, thanks. That’d be great.” It wasn’t until I got home that I realised what the look on his face was. It was fear. And I realised I didn’t know his name. ![]()
GIVEAWAY! Release Day Blitz Title: Judgment: Kian (part 1 of The Judgment Duet) Author: Lora Ann Genre(s): Paranormal Romance, Dark Urban Fantasy
![]() Excerpt Prologue (Kian) Kian stood respectfully before his superior, head bowed as the arguments prevailed against him. Lars intervened, “As you can see, he has violated several of the rules that are clearly written and therefore, has lost his standing.” “Silence, Fallen One,” the deep resonating voice of the Prince commanded. “Angel, what do you have to say for yourself?” he addressed Kian. “I am guilty, Sir.” A thoughtful nod confirmed. “The child is special and still needs protecting.” He didn’t dare raise his head in excitement. “But…you, Kian, need to learn from your mistakes.” “Yes, Sir.” Lars taunted, “I’ll take him with me.” “Will you ever learn, Fallen One? This is discipline, not banishment. Be gone.” Lars’ ear-splitting scream filled the air as he was hurled back to Hell. The Prince stood in front of the mighty warrior. “I do hope you understand why I must do this.” He motioned to two other angels who stepped forward. “Bend.” Kian knelt as they ripped the wings from his body, stripped him of his armor, and gave him the form of a man. “You are hereby sentenced to one lifetime on Earth as a human.” Kian gasped, not just from the physical pain he was in, but the emotional pain as well. “Find the child named Cole McNeil and guard him. He will be a man of great power someday if you can protect him during the most vulnerable time of his life.” He placed a hand on him. “I do hope you succeed, Kian.” The floor of gold opened, and he hit the earth abruptly. Naked. He scrambled to his feet, searching his surroundings. Snow. Mountains. Pine trees. And he was freezing his ass off, along with a rather important body part—if he recalled correctly. With a quick glance down at the thing that dangled between his legs, he ensured he was all intact. “Where the hell are your clothes?” came a female voice from behind him. He turned with a hand over the part of him that made him male. “Not sure.” His voice was much the same as before, deep and low. Her eyes widened, and her breathing grew more erratic. She yanked off her parka. “Cover your junk before it freezes and falls off.” His head cocked to the side; her body did not match her words. “Yes, ma’am.” She threw a wave over her shoulder and turned. “I’m by no means old enough to be a ma’am. Come on, let’s go get you in front of a fire. I won’t be held responsible for you being found in the spring thaw buck ass naked.” He couldn’t help but grin. She was—what was that word he’d heard Mitch say?—“Sassy,” he said, snapping his fingers. “You ain’t seen my sass yet, Mister.”![]() Purchase here: ![]() Listen to Playlist here: Add to your TBR here: ![]() About the Author: A homeschooling mom by day and hot, steamy romance writer by night, there isn’t an adventure Lora Ann doesn’t mind taking. NIGHTMARE OF THE CLANS
BOOK ONE
As the driver steered the car through the airport traffic, Adamma closed her eyes and concentrated on Rasul. It only took a moment for her to locate his mind and send her thoughts into his head.
Rasul, I know you can hear me. Meet me at Georgeâs house. Letâs talk.
Surprised by the sudden voice in his head, Rasul dropped his fork. It landed with a clang on his dinner plate. He jerked his head up and tilted it to the side as if he could hear the voice better that way. Then he engaged his abilities and tried to detect Adammaâs location. Nothing happened. His eyes squinted in an attempt to concentrate harder and increase the intensity of his ability. He had the power to sense when other clans were using their abilities and to pinpoint their location. Still...nothing happened.
Strange, he thought. I can hear her but I canât sense her or locate her. Somehow, she is able to block my abilities while controlling her contact with meâ¦I wonder if she knows I canât sense her.
Yesâ¦I know, said the voice in his head.
He raised his eyebrows then lowered them. He might as well give up trying to locate her and talk instead. Hello, Adamma, he communicated, you are much stronger than you were the last time I saw you.
Againâ¦I know.
So, you have been training...and now youâre even stronger than your mother. She canât block me from sensing her. But Iâm surprised you are contacting me. Have you finally realized Iâm right?
Like I said, Rasul, letâs talk. Will you meet me?
Where?
At Georgeâs house.
With Elizabeth and the whole Spencer clan there too. Now why would I walk into a trap? Iâm insulted you think Iâm that stupid.
Of course I know how brilliant you are, she retorted sarcastically.
The mockery dripping from every word wasnât lost on him. But he was too curious to refuse to meet her. Besides, he doubted Adamma would flat out try to kill him. It wasnât in her natureâ¦and he couldnât help the hope that flickered inside of him.
I can be there tomorrow.
Fineâ¦Iâll see you then.
She abruptly cut her connection to Rasul, opened her eyes, and tilted her head to look out of the window. London hadnât looked so beautiful to her since the day she arrived to attend the university. And she had never felt so calm.
Thirty minutes later, her taxi drove up in front of Georgeâs house. She paid the driver, refused his help with her luggage then walked through the front yard to the door. George already knew she was there because Malika had contacted his mother telepathically. She could hear all of them constantly calling out her name in her mindâ¦telling her to wait until they got there before she contacted Rasul. She ignored them.
When she reached the front door, she stared at the doorknob. Her green eyes sparkled as she concentrated on moving the lock with her telekinetic ability. The lock clicked and the bolt slid back. She turned her head slightly and glanced down the street to make sure no one was watching her. Then the door flew open and she walked inside. Her luggage lifted from the ground and floated in behind her. She settled in for the night.
Early the next morning, she cooked a light breakfast and then did her training exercises. By the time she finished, her clothes were soaked with sweat from working out her body and her abilities. She showered, got dressed then headed for the living room.
A moment later, she stood in the middle of the living room, raising her arms on each side. Gold flecks shimmered within her green eyes as she engaged her powers. The windows in every room slammed shut and the blinds closed. The double bolts on every door locked. The furniture sailed across the living room and settled against the wall. The knives flew out of the kitchen drawers, into the pantry and its door locked. When she was done, her eyes stopped glimmering and she scanned the living room with a satisfied expression on her face. She tilted her head towards the cushioned chair against the wall and it soared across the room then stopped beside her, facing the front door.
Slowly she sat down in the chair, leaned back and waited...
