EXCERPT
"Oh!" the Mom answered, but could not contain her curiosity with one hand holding the hyper toddler and the other on her hip she could not resist, "You two don't look like brother-sister, hmmm. So, what is your relationship?" she inquired with a slight smile in a soft voice but without any inhibition. A handful of seniors sitting in the same room observed all the drama and nodded to each other while their fingers were moving on the Tulsi neck beads.

Neena rolled her eyes and thought to herself, "Jeez! We Indians are always darn inquisitive."
Nikhil immediately got up and started walking towards the dining area. This was happening to them for the umpteenth time, and he was now tired of clarifying things. He had lived in this country for half a decade now and still he could never understand the fascination Indians had for marriage and children.

Neena was confused at first because it was unlike Nikhil to be so rude. On the contrary, sometimes Neena referred to him on lessons in patience but today it was different. But then she didn’t have a choice; she felt it was rude to walk away from the young mother leaving the conversation unanswered. Moreover given Indian mentality in all possibility, she might even follow them till she had a convincing answer to her question.

Comedy, jealousy and intrigue take center stage as a small town prepares for an ACLU lawsuit over a sign that reads FAITH, Hometown of Jesus Christ. A lightning-fast read, the turn of the last page will have you wishing your stay in Faith could have lasted just a few more days, or at least that you had picked up a Jesus-in-the-Box or a poster of the town's super-hot mechanic Johnny Cain.

The town of Faith has found religion, and no one is happier than Father O'Brien, who was down to one parishioner. Now the confessional lines are blocks long, and the oatmeal cookie crosses are selling like hotcakes. At the 4th of July parade the mayor's 12-year-old son survived the mock crucifixion with only a broken arm and mild head trauma. Everyone give it up for Faith, Hometown of Jesus Christ.

Someone's plotting the town's first murder and the mill has just been robbed of an ungodly sum. There's a cross burning on a motel lawn and everyone is sleeping around. Yes, the town of Faith has got problems, but no one is more confused than Bobby Ray whose ex-girlfriend has just returned. Everyone, let us pray.

The Pulpit Chronicles: Prey For Me  Author: Kenya Moss-Dyme

Picture
From the Author: I hope this will be a kind of cautionary tale, really for anyone, but especially for women, not just single parents but mothers. Just because someone has the word Reverend in front of their name doesn’t mean you should let down your guard when it comes to your kids.

From Amazon: "Man. Minister. Monster. On the surface, Reverend Theo Goody appeared to be everything that single mother Keynetha needed. He was gorgeous, committed to the church, and wasn't fixated on getting her into bed like her other suitors. Women packed the church every Sunday for a glimpse at the sexy, mysterious and available preacher, and hope for a shot at becoming First Lady. Keynetha managed to skate past her competition and begin a tumultuous relationship of some sort with the Pastor. Sure, he was awkward and hesitant when it was time to take their relationship to another level, but Keynetha chalked that up to his lack of experience with women, due to his dedication to God.
When he takes a sudden interest in her son, Keynetha is cautious but she's eventually won over by Reverend Theo's charm, however, this man of God is hiding dark and horrifying secrets that will rock Keynetha to the core. Will she be blinded by love and desire, or will she uncover the deadly truth about Theo in time to save her son? "
