Teaser...Saturday?                       An Unconventional Love

Soooo An Unconventional Love is dropping tomorrow and I'm soooo excited...and nervous....and anxious...and everything else lol but anyway!

Here's another teaser - that was shared on Facebook (like the page!) - for Teaser Tuesday!
Picture
4:48 AM.
Shit.
I had to get out of here.
I pulled my legs as slowly and quietly as I could from under the comforter, letting my toes sink into the carpet for a moment before I stood up. I glided from the bed, working hard to not draw any attention to myself.
Where are my panties?
Luckily they were bright pink otherwise there would’ve been no way for me to spot them in the dark. I bent over to retrieve them and was startled by the sound of his voice.
“Are you purposely trying to entice me?” I refused to turn around and give him the satisfaction of my attention and bare breasts.
“No. Actually I was purposely trying to get my ass out of here.”
“Oh, that ass? Nah, that ass isn’t going anywhere,” he said with a low chuckle though I didn’t find anything funny.
“Excuse me?”
“You’re excused. Now get back over here. I’m far from done with you.”

Teaser...Thursday?                                          An Unconventional Love

So I shared this via FB - which if you wanna really stay up-to-date, you should probably go like the page lol - but I wanted to make sure I put it here too! Here's a little teaser from An Unconventional Love, coming July 25th!

“Hey. Sorry I’m late. The brat had a load of questions.” I turned to find...whatever his name was, dressed down from his earlier attire but still looking exquisite. His good looks were almost enough to make up for the fact that he was twenty minutes late.

“It’s all good. But I’ve had a long day so I think I’m gonna jet.”

His face turned into a frown as he questioned, “Jet? But I just got here.”

“Yeah. You just got here but I’ve been here and am now ready to leave.” I reached down to retrieve my purse from the under counter rack before I felt that same warm hand except for this time it was covering mine. It felt like I was shocked by static but I knew that probably wasn’t the case considering there was nothing around to create that kind of energy.

So what the hell was that?

“One drink. It’s the least I could do for wasting your time.” His beautiful brown eyes were pleading with me to stay and it felt like I couldn’t say no if I wanted to.

But for the record, I did in fact want to say no.

“Fine. One drink. Then I’m out of here.” He smiled as if he didn’t believe my statement before he climbed onto the barstool next to the one I had been occupying.

“You won’t wanna leave.”

“Excuse me?”

“After one drink. You won’t wanna leave.” So this late mothafucka who had already ruined a little of my month by hitting my car really had the nerve to be arrogant about my time. Yet here I was, accepting the challenge with open arms.

Hey Peeps!

It's been awhile...I know I know, but I'm excited to share with you that *SOMETHING* is coming soon. (No, not Senior Year lol)

Here's a sample from An Unconventional Love, featuring Jasmine from Getting the Edge.

I watched the flow of traffic out of my sideview mirror, waiting for a good chance to jump in. I had a solid half hour before my Contemporary Issues in Laws and Politics class was due to start but judging by the traffic that had yet to stop coming, I would be late as always. As I veered in once I thought the coast was clear, I instantly heard the collision of someone’s headlight against my bumper.

“What the fuck!” I put my car in park and hopped out to inspect the damage. For as bad as things sounded, there was only a small dent but that wasn’t gonna stop me from cussing whoever the driver was out after I snapped a quick pic of their license plate just in case they decided to do a hit and run. The second I heard the door to the 95 Honda Accord creak open, I wasted no time going in. “Are you blind?! Were you not paying any attention?! This is a BMW for Christ’s sake!”

“Calm down girl. It was an accident. Shit happens. Just chill out for a second.”

I didn’t have time to look at whoever the man was as I was too busy snapping shots of the damage to submit to my insurance agent by app. “Chill out?! I’ll chill out when your insurance information… if you have insurance… is in my hand so I can get to where I need to go.”

“Look. I got places to go just like you so don’t try to put yourself on some high horse just cause my car is a different level of luxury than yours. If your ass was paying attention, you would’ve saw me coming but no, you were probably too busy looking in the mirror at your damn self to think about other people on the road.” He had a point. I mean, I was only checking my teeth to make sure none of the spinach salad I had for a late lunch was stuck between them. But he didn’t know all that for a fact so he had no right to just make it up like he knew me or something.

When I finally looked at him, ready to serve him my spitfire speciality on a platter, all my words seemed to get choked up in my throat. Smooth, honey-roasted skin, a five o’clock shadow that contradicted his fresh out of the barber’s chair low fade, and muscles that were straining against a damp white tee like he had just came from the gym.

Lawd.

If I would’ve known he was this damn fine all along, I certainly would’ve kept my mouth closed. But now that he had came for me on some personal shit…

“And just where do you have to be huh? Going to visit one of your baby mamas? Gonna lay some dick on her so she’ll lower your child support payments?” Clearly, the last case I had finished the paperwork for before I left the office was still in my head.

He raised an eyebrow at me before he said, “I don’t have kids. Not that that’s any of your business. But actually I was headed home before your non-driving ass interrupted me.” I rolled my eyes.

“Anyway! Will you just hand over your insurance card so I can snap a picture and get on my way. I have way better things to do than go tit-for-tat with a stranger in the street.” He finally cracked a smirk and my lower extremities seemed to lose a little bit of their cohesion. Thankfully he didn’t see my reaction as he was already back at his car, leaning over the front seat to get to the glove compartment. I tried to divert my attention to everything else happening around me, but somehow my eyes still gravitated to his ridiculously firm ass.

Sheesh.

He peeked through the windshield to see if I was still there and the way his gaze skimmed over my body gave me chills.

Chill Jaz.

He’s not on your level.

Instead of waiting for him to find his information, I went to my car to get mine. I was still in my work clothes, so it wasn’t easy to get across the front seat in my pencil skirt but now that I was already trying, I surely wasn’t going to get back out of the car to walk around. As I flipped through the random assortment of papers that were in my glove compartment, I heard a low, “Damn” and knew exactly why. I peeked behind me, way too prepared to get my flirt and tease on since I finally had his attention but his eyes were nowhere near on me. In fact, they were on his phone that he seemed to be scrolling through endlessly.

Whatever.

I grabbed one of the paper copies of my insurance card that I kept in my car just for situations like this (okay, maybe I wasn’t the best driver) and climbed out of the car.

“Here you go.” He peeked up from his phone just long enough to grab the paper and trade it with his insurance card. I pulled my phone out to take a picture of both sides before giving it back to him. He gave me a nod and was heading back to his car, his eyes still preoccupied with whatever was on his phone. And against my usual attack of someone that intrigued me, I climbed into mine.

Jasmine is on the not-it list when it comes to relationships.

A fling here and there?

Definitely.

But full blown commitment?

No way in hell.

Dealing with a man full-time is just not worth the trouble when you can get what you want and get away like it never happened.

That was the plan when she met Rich, a good and worthy fling, but exactly that...a fling.

Until the cravings start.

And Jasmine is forced into a whole new realm of life when she least expected it.

Sample-ish Sunday                                         Bonus Scene from Junior Year

5/17/2015

So I love that people are enjoying Junior Year enough to have already finished it and I can't WAIT to read everyone's reviews but I received a question today that made me think...

The question was: Did Jaden ever tell Jordan what Natasha did because she never came back around after she was exposed.

For those of you that have at least made it to Spring Semester, you know what this is about, but for those that haven't, close your eyes! lol

I picture this conversation happening around Finals Week/Christmas Break time but here it is as a little bonus read for all of your support!

I had to tell him.

I could no longer sit back and watch my brother fall victim to Natasha’s bullshit even though I was just sure it would be the other way around when they first hooked up. I peeked into the door of Jordan’s room and saw him laying on the bed, smiling giddily at his phone. I could hear the voice of a girl coming from the phone, but I couldn’t put my finger on who it belonged to right away.

“Jordy, I don’t know why we keep doing this.”

Jordy?

Only one person in the world called him Jordy and that was his forever boo, Ashley.

“Doing what, beautiful?”

Beautiful?

What the hell is this all about?

I didn’t wanna blow my cover, so I kept listening from the hallway.

“The back and forth like we don’t wanna be with each other. I mean, you know I wanna be with you and...it seems like you wanna be with me so…”

“So, let’s just be together, right?”

“Exactly.”

Oh shit.

They were actually talking about getting back together as if Natasha didn’t exist.

“Well, look Ash. I’ve been thinking about it and...though I do wanna be with you, I’ve got so much going on with school and getting ready for graduation that I don’t know if I’d do us any justice by trying to balance all of that with our relationship.”

I recognized his game the second it came out of his mouth. He had never had a problem balancing school and their relationship before, so that surely couldn’t be the issue. He was simply enjoying the single life and wasn’t quite ready to give it up. Of course, he couldn’t put it that way to Ashley if he wanted to keep her around so he gave her the balancing act talk instead.

I knocked on the door, immediately getting his attention.

“Hey babe, I’m gonna call you back, okay?” I heard her reply before he quickly hung up the phone. “Little brother, what’s up?”

“You and Ash getting back together, huh?”

He shrugged his shoulders as he replied, “I don’t know, maybe.”

“So you and Natasha are through?”

“Umm...not quite, little brother.”

“You want me to tell you why you should be?” He sat up a little straighter, inviting me to have a seat on his bed with him. There was no reason to hold anything back now that I knew the complete truth.

“I don’t think I like the sound of that.”

“You shouldn’t. Remember those pics, and texts, that broke Lexi and I up?”

“Yeah…”

I could see the wheels turning in his head, but he didn’t catch on until I said, “Natasha.”

“Natasha?”

“Well Natasha and Skylar, but yeah Natasha.”

“Why would she do something like that?” His guess was as good as mine and though she had told me why, I still didn’t fully believe her premise.

“She called herself helping her cousin but I know bullshit when I hear it. She was using you to get to me.”

I watched his whole demeanor turn empathetic as he said, “Damn...that’s...that’s crazy. I mean, I wasn’t gonna make things official with her or anything like that but...damn. That’s fucked up. I’m sorry, little brother.”

“Nah, I’m sorry for letting you invite her into our section in the first place. Should’ve warned you about those crazy ass eyes.”

He got a little too excited about me mentioning them as he came back with, “Them eyes were wicked, huh? I mean when we were fuckin’, they would…”

“Toooo much, bro. I get it. I don’t need the details.”

“Right. But thanks for the tip. I mean, I’ll probably hit that one more time as if you didn’t just tell me all of this and call it quits.”

“Whatever floats your boat.”

This time next week, Junior Year will be out on Amazon (as long as they aren't on games lol)! But until then, here's the first page of the book for Sample Sunday. :)

alexis.

“Babe, you gotta believe me.”

I was trying my best to wrap my head around what was happening even though the pounding of my heart and the sweat accumulating in my palms were making things ten times harder to process.

I had literally just gotten back to California.

Ready to take on another school year.

Ready to move into my new apartment.

Ready to enjoy some blissfulness with Jaden.

And someone had anonymously sent me a picture with their mouth wrapped around his dick, implying that they had kept him busy while I was home for the summer. They called themselves, “My worst fuckin’ nightmare” and no matter how much I tried to fight the sentiment, it was definitely ringing true.

“Jaden, don’t try to fuckin’ play me. I know your dick and that is definitely your dick.”

“That’s gotta be somebody from the past Lexi, I swear. I would never do that shit to you. I mean, I wasn’t the most virtuous dude before I met you so it could be a number of people, but that shit definitely wasn’t from the summertime.” I really didn’t know what to believe. Jaden had always been honest with me about things, but I knew he wasn’t the most honest person when it came to his previous relationships so maybe those bad habits were finally starting to surface. My face was frozen in a thoughtful scowl as I tried to digest the last thing I expected to see when I opened the message in the first place. I must’ve stayed in my own head for too long as Jaden piped out, “Babe, please talk to me. Tell me what you’re thinking.”

“I’m sorry, Alexis. I didn’t know you were...seeing someone.”

“It’s cool. We’re just...sharing a friendly dinner, right?” I peeked over just in time to catch him using a napkin to delicately dab the corners of his mouth before those same corners flared into a provocative grin.

“Trust me, beautiful. I don’t do just-friends with women like you.”

“Lexi Boo, you know we’re like 3 hours ahead of ya’ll over here on the East Coast.”
“True. I guess I should’ve known that, huh?”
“Considering you’re from this neck of the woods, definitely. But I’m up and you’re making that worth something so it’s all good.” I smiled as I watched the light from the TV flicker off his body in the dim room.
“Well since it is so late over there, what are you still doing up then?”
“I was actually dozing off ‘til you text me. That’s why I FaceTimed you cause I probably would’ve fallen asleep waiting on your replies.” I knew exactly what he meant though I usually just chose to fall asleep anyway. But I couldn’t help using the opportunity to tease him again.
“I thought you wanted to hear my voice and look at me.”
“Well that too. You know what I mean. Quit playin’.”

Sophomore Year folks know all about that ‪#‎LexiBoo‬ lol

So I ran across this picture online and thought it was soooo spot on. Ya'll have no idea how much these little things (that take no more than 5 minutes---unless you're a long-winded reviewer lol) help us indie writers! Take a peek, think of me (and your other favorite indies), and let's get it handled! lol
