Hello, I am Yolanda but go by the pen name of Yo Loni. I was born in North Philadelphia and raised in the small town of Harleyville South Carolina. I am a single mother of one very handsome, and activity young man. I began writing at the age of ten. In Philly we had this placed called the Center where all the kids went after school. While everyone was playing games, I was writing. I was told I was a great story teller. As I got older I stopped writing because I than got into playing sports. It wasn’t until 2011 I started writing again. I was introduce to Author Alfred Adams. I worked at a state prison here in South Carolina where he was serving time. He allowed me to read over one of his books he was working on and that’s when I decided I want to write again. It wasn’t until May 2014 when my writing career began. I sign with Write House Publishing under Danielle Marcus Present. In September 2014 my first novel was released. I never thought about writing as a career until I was introduced to Danielle Marcus, my publisher. Her passion for the craft is unbelievable. Because of her I wanted to be able to embrace my writing talent and grow as an author. She is a true leader and I appreciate her for giving me the opportunity to show case my talent.

My most recent release was Dysfunctional Lovers.

The Author 10!                                                           Featuring: Love Belvin

12/4/2015

So I'm SUPER excited about our latest Author 10!, mainly because her new book In Love with Ezra just dropped this week!

But let's get to know a definite fan favorite, Love Belvin.

1. Favorite book of all time?
Don't have one, oddly enough. My favorite story of all time is Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. I can watch/read it in just about any format.

2. Favorite author of all time?
Errrrrr... Don't have one either. I have several I rely on for a solid story-line and twisting plots. S.H. Kohlee is one. She rips my heart from my chest, spits on it, stomps all over it, hands it back, and leave me pleasantly intrigued. Christina C. Jones always reminds me to open my mind, as a reader, to different elements of romance. She has me reading paranormal and suspense, two genres I wouldn't otherwise, and I love it. I'm quite often impress by her big brain. Sylvia Day's artsy writing style always leaves me mesmerized. Her pen is wonderfully curvy, and I enjoy it.

3. Favorite book turned movie?
I'm going with A Christmas Carol. A classic redemption story.

4. Favorite genre to read?
Contemporary adult romance. #Allday

5. Favorite genre to write?
Contemporary adult romance. Nothing deep here. I haven't ventured outside of that yet. It's my love.

6. What is your go-to writing place?
I don't have an official place yet. If I can get a moment to clear my mind and think, I'll create an office in my house. I have this one guest bedroom I can do without thanks to the reclusive writer in me. I'm hoping to do it in 2016.

7. What snack/drink must you have while you're writing? If any?
Everyone who knows me know I 'need' my glass of vino. As of late, dry red has been the preferred choice.

8. How do you celebrate a release day?
This question is making feel corny. I don't celebrate. I usually just study the flutters in my chest and leaps in my belly on bringing a story full circle. Nonetheless, it never lasts long because I have to get on with the next couple awaiting my couch.

9. What's your favorite part about being an author?
It's between connecting with absolute strangers on a story that was created in my head, and continuing to unfold my God-given gift. I sat on it for so many years, not really knowing it was there. I did the traditional thing (school) and accomplished several goals in life that I'm grateful for. However none, fulfilled the creative void in me. With each project, I'm discovering God and His hand. I tell people all the time, we all have gifts. Don't let life pass you by without discovering yours; it can be debilitating. Unleashing it makes each day that much more enjoyable. It's how God connects you to so many.

10. Why should people read your books?
I learned a long time ago that every book is not for everybody, even if it's their favorite genre. I hope what people receive from my works is a chance to experience flawed people make the best of what they have to find the ability to love and be loved. It's that simple. I enjoy taking on broken people, illuminating their flaws, and pushing them to address their weakness in order to experience real romantic love. Oh, and that I drink my weight in wine while doing it! #Kidding

Picture
Love Belvin is a native of the Tri-State area and now lives in the Delaware Valley. She's an avid reader and enjoys dinner parties with her closest girlfriends. While she enjoys many things, nothing excites her more than curling up with a glass of wine and a good romance novel.

Love Belvin is the author of the "Love's Improbable Possibility" series. The first installment of the adult romance series is "Love Lost", the second is "Love UnExpected", the third is "Love UnCharted", and the fourth and final is "Love Redeemed". She's also penned the "Waiting to Breathe" series. That order is: "Love Delayed" and "Love Delivered" all available.

The Author 10!                                                   Featuring DL White

This week's Author 10 features DL White, who currently has her book Same Time Next Week available for Pre-Order on Amazon.

Check out her answers to The Author 10 below! :)

1. Favorite book of all time?

My answer to this is always TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD. I haven't read it in MANY years (something I plan to remedy before GO SET A WATCHMAN comes out), but when anyone asks me about my favorite book, that one immediately comes to mind.

2. Favorite author of all time?
Tough question..... this really varies. I don't know that I have ONE favorite author. I read across a few genres, so I'll say, my fave thriller writer right now is Paul Cleave (with a nod to John Lescroart as well), my fave romance writer is probably LaVyrle Spencer(I started reading her back in my teens and read EVERYTHING she's ever written); my fave Literary fiction writer..... hmmm hard to say.... but my fave Erotica/ Erotic Romance writer is Roni Loren.

3. Favorite book turned movie?
Fried Green Tomatoes. Very well done.

4. Favorite genre to read?
I'll read Literary fiction over anything, I think. Then a good crime/mystery/thriller novel. Romance is kind of a palate cleanser. I need some happiness after taking in so much drama.

5. Favorite genre to write?
Women's fiction. I LOVE telling the stories of every day women.

6. What is your go-to writing playlist?
Dave Matthews Band. Just click it and GO.

7. What snack/drink must you have while you're writing? If any?
Skittles is my Writer Fuel. it's not messy, it's fruity and delicious. If I am doing some kind of retreat (where I book a hotel room and write all weekend), I bring a 2lb bag of Skittles.

8. How do you celebrate a release day?
Besides staring at Amazon? Hahaha... I've only had two of them, so I don't have any set ritual or celebration... but I have one coming next month so maybe I'll do something special... go to dinner or something.

9. What's your favorite part about being an author?
Hearing from a reader that they loved the story and could relate to the characters, that the people in my books reminded them of someone they knew. That lets me know that my stories are realistic, grounded in reality and my characters are well developed and not flat or surface

10. Why should people read your books?
Because they are real, engaging stories about lifelike characters living life just like you or me.

Authors are awesome people.
Like seriously.
And I'm not just saying that because I kind of fall into the author category now either. LoL
Anyway, I thought it would be fun for the bookworms to be able to get to know some of their favorite authors a little more candidly.

Introducing....The Author 10.
10 Quick Questions posed to your favorite authors about both their reading and writing. Special thanks to Author Brynette Turner for being our first participant!

1. Favorite book of all time? The Chronicles of Narnia

2. Favorite author of all time? I don't have one. I read so many different authors that it's impossible to narrow it down.

3. Favorite book turned movie? Any of the Jason Bourne books.

4. Favorite genre to read? Suspense, closely followed by Erotic Romance

5. Favorite genre to write? Contemporary Romantic

6. What is your go-to writing playlist? Anything by India Arie. I have all of her CDs and simply put them on repeat.

7. What snack/drink must you have while you're writing? If any? I'm not a big snacker, but I drink either coffee, tequila, or dark beer.

8. How do you celebrate a release day? If I'm not hosting an online party, I usually go out to dinner with my family. I also randomly give away copies of my new release on Facebook throughout the day.

9. What's your favorite part about being an author? I love knowing that people enjoy stories that I create. Nothing makes me happier than the fact that overall, my ratings on every book exceed 4 stars (out of 5) both on Amazon and Goodreads.

10. Why should people read your books? Even though there are steamy sex scenes, my romance stories are about all types of love and always have happy endings. The couple must face challenges, but I don't believe in unfinished business or cliffhangers.
